It's unknown for me to be in two minds about a book by Nigel Slater, where other reviews have occasionally been closer to hagiography. Slater is excellent on summoning up that enjoyment of whatever comes along, as well as a host of other oddities that will immediately be familiar.

Now this you’re sure to have heard of, but it deserves a mention and is certainly one not to be missed while travelling England.
