Step through it and you will enter the backstage area but beware once you enter you will encounter the realities dwelling in the kingdom of make-believe.

For ages 12–14, only when permission has been given at the time of booking will students be allowed to leave unattended.It was a bit hit and miss, and not every story will be to your taste, but that's par for the course for collections. I like a book that takes the reader through an array of emotions, and this story did not disappoint!

It wasn't clear: where the book was set, in terms of geography, or time of year, how old the characters were, or what they looked like until well into the book. However, some of the short stories are just too esoteric and some of the science explanations just too techie to make it a comfortable read.

I quite enjoyed this book, it was written at a good pace, and the characters were honest and likeable. I also liked how the book opens with Merritt's life completely off the rails because of her dad and the accident and feeling completely lost and how Chase's is all packaged well together and his slowly starts to fall apart as the book progresses as his dad deteriorates.

Merritt finally accepted love and found herself reciprocating the attention she received herself to Chase. With griffins and unicorns running amok around London and dangerous monsters escaping from the Passages, Ada and Kay are sent to seek out the source of the trouble. My only issues with this book were that at times you felt kind of thrown into the middle of the story without all the information/background. With her mother's selfish abandonment, and her father's shocking suicide, she is convinced that nobody will ever stick around for long. All electronic equipment, especially mobile phones, must be set to silent before entering the Theatre and/or any other spaces where events are taking place.
