About this deal

Cluedo is a classic murder mystery game, with its players taking part in a grand ‘whodunnit’. Each player takes on the role of a suspect who must work to discover how the owner of the manor house they’re in was killed. Be the first to correctly guess the killer, the murder weapon, and the room the crime took place in, and you win the game.

Each player should choose who they want to play as. The current Cluedo characters in the Classic Mystery Game edition are: If that player can't do so, the player to their left must then try disproving the suggestion by secretly showing a card from their hand that matches your theory. If a player's suggestion has brought another player's token into a room, the second player may make their own suggestion in the room when their turn comes up, if desired. If not, they may move out of the room, and if able to reach another room, make a suggestion therein, as usual. In the American version, players are not allowed to make suggestions repeatedly by remaining in one room; if they wish to make a second suggestion, they must first spend a turn out of the room. To eliminate suspects, weapons and rooms, the characters must move around the mansion, entering rooms and asking questions to work out the correct solution. Once they believe they know the solution, they can make a final accusation and see if they were right.Cross-platform multiplayer - play together with your favourite people on PC, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch

THE ORIGINAL HASBRO BOARD GAME - It’s the classic murder mystery! Who did it? With what weapon? In which room? There’s a high-risk party at the mansion and every guest is a suspect. Roll the dice, become a detective and let Clue begin! First, put all of the weapon tokens in the middle of the board. Place the characters on their labelled starting squares, or in the middle of the board if there are no labelled starting squares on your board. You should use all of the tokens - six weapons and six characters - regardless of how many players there are. The weapon icons are typically made of unfinished pewter (except the rope, which may be plastic or string); special editions have included gold plated, brass finished and sterling silver versions.Games magazine included Clue in their "Top 100 Games of 1981", noting that the "characters in this 32-year-old game have become household words" and that the game is best played with four to six players. [36] Clue/Cluedo is a classic murder mystery board game, with a history that spans over 70 years, and that has been played by millions. The storyline includes a horrible murder, a grand mansion, and a gathering of suspicious characters. The aim of the game is to find the murderer. Your copy of Cluedo will also include miniatures representing possible murder weapons. Place these in random room spaces, with each weapon in a separate room from the others. Up to six people can play Cluedo. The minimum number of players depends on the exact edition, with some copies supporting just two players and others requiring at least three.

Once you enter a named room, you can make a guess about the murder. Your guess must include the room you’re in, but you can guess any weapon and suspect you want (including the one you’re playing). The minis representing your chosen weapon and suspect must be moved to your room. The exact rooms and layout of the Cluedo board can vary between editions, but the gameplay remains almost identical. | Image credit: Hasbro It is a single-player game, in which you embody Hercule Poirot, and you have to explore many crime scenes in various cities across the United Kingdom.Dicebreaker is owned by Gamer Network Limited, a ReedPop company and subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions Limited. If this leaves you with a couple of leftover cards, put them to the side of the board faceup so everyone can see them. Players should keep their hand of cards hidden from their opponents.

Next, shuffle the remaining weapon, item, and suspect cards together. Deal these out to the players. This is an adventure and investigation game adapted from Agatha Christie’s detective stories with Hercule Poirot (just as Clue/Cluedo bears a striking resemblance with Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None). On his stint as host, Chris Tarrant was later quoted as saying, "I absolutely hated hosting Cluedo; it's the worst thing I've ever done. It took forever to make the thing. We used to have to turn the studio audience over just to make sure they didn't get any bed sores." [15] Controversy [ edit ] Players can use their entire movement value, or just part of it if a lower number will reach the room they are aiming for. If a player’s character token was moved by another player between their turns (for example, when involved in a question), on their next turn they may instead choose to not move and ask a question in their current location. The player must move to the indoor swimming pool in the centre of the board to make an accusation. This adds some challenge versus the ability to make accusations from anywhere in the original game.CLUEDO is the classic mystery game - a grand mansion … a dastardly murder … a gathering of suspicious characters. Now you can play the beloved Hasbro family board game on Nintendo Switch™! Once inside a room, you can use the process of elimination to guess the weapon, character and room inside the case file envelope. You must move the weapon and character into the room you are suggesting. Once a suggestion is made, the person on the left of you must reveal if they have any cards you mentioned in their hand. If so, they must show you (and no one else) one card; you can then cross this off your detective notebook sheet and that's your turn over. If not, the next person can reveal one of their cards. If no cards are revealed, you can then accuse these three cards meaning you may have won the game. While the original game has been substantially altered by owner Hasbro, fans wanted to keep exploring the mystery-game genre in online games similar to Clue. The North American versions of Clue also replace the character "Reverend Green" from the original Cluedo with "Mr. Green". This is the only region to continue to make such a change. Minor changes include "Miss Scarlett" with her name being spelt with one 't', the spanner being called a wrench, and the dagger renamed a knife. In the 2016 U.S. edition, the knife was changed to a dagger. Until 2003, the lead piping was known as the lead pipe only in the North American edition.
