As I could not proceed I do not know if they then ask about medical conditions (lots of these but resulting from diabetes so not sure whether we will be rejected). This extra cost is because any recovery of over 4250kg requires a much larger and more expensive recovery vehicle......allegedly. The two "Yes" answers are my husband's referral for 1) an initial gallstone consultation, 2) cataracts (op) and 3) diabetic retinopathy laser treatment. The change in medication is a minor skin condition.
it is/was cheaper to take RP's offering for longer trips rather than extend the annual policy. I have only once not used RP and that was to go to Morocco. The C&CC provided better cover for that country but there were still risks involved. ADAC has lots of One thing to bear in mind though, especially for us tuggers, is you must make sure your breakdown cover is "caravan friendly". This is, obviously, very very important. You need to make sure your caravan will be recovered in the event of your car breaking down whilst you are away from your caravan. And, of course, you will need your caravan covered in case you gave any issues with that (breaks, hitch etc). The C&CC/RAC policy covers all that. I assume Staysure does too. Many "bog standard" breakdown policies will not.
For several years we have taken the Red Pennant travel and vehicle insurance for our foreign travels. The annual cover expires in August but I needed to notify them of a change of vehicle before we whizz off to France in a couple of days. It is very important to look beyond the list of cover offered to find the true extent of the cover and much of this is in the interpretation. The Club works with the member to find solutions to suit individual needs, dependent upon services being available. Red Pennant is a belt and braces cover and that is reflected in its cost. It is run by The Club and we have huge experience at assisting our members through the many problems experienced. Red Pennant is not just breakdown insurance, it is holiday protection insurance and . ... .
If you are travelling to these destinations, the Club cannot offer motoring assistance and you are advised to arrange and pay for your own assistance and submit a claim for consideration on your return home. You will need to keep all original invoices and receipts to support your claim. If you have an annual multi-trip policy with a start date on or after 1 January 2020 please call our Red Pennant team on 01342 336 606 and we can discuss options with you. I have lost count of the number of Club surveys I have completed asking for a menu system for breakdown cover including the options mentioned above. I can understand all of the points made but it should come down to what members want so that our Club gives We weren't going to post this thread until after we had got to the end of the process, but we have just had another half hour phone call to Swinton, the name of the company who we have to talk to about complaints with the policy, having got no where with the AA who we are supposed to talk to in cases of complaints with roadside assistance.
