Mesh pads are quieter than rubber pads, and they feel better when you play them. This is a huge plus for the TD-1DMK, since many other low-price electronic drum kits usually feature basic rubber pads. There’s nothing inherently wrong with rubber drum pads, but mesh pads are a very nice improvement. These issues can be solved if you upgrade the TD-1 module to something better from Roland. It feels amazing to play the Roland TD-1DMK. The pads feel great, and the drums are very responsive to dynamics. Even though you don’t have many kit options, all the preset kits play quite musically. If you need more customizability though, you should look elsewhere. The TD1DMK is robust and durable enough to offer longevity. From beginner to advanced drummer, the Roland TD-1DMK is able to grow as you do. The ability to expand this drum kit means that you can add new components as your requirements change. From adding an extra cymbal pad or upgrading the sound module, this electronic drum kit has the ability to serve you for a very long time.
