Monitoring Red Pandas from Indian Himalayan Region: Implications in Conservation and Management of Free Ranging Populations / Supriyo Dalui, Lalit Kumar Sharma and Mukesh Thakur Led by one of the world’s leading authorities and advocates for red panda conservation, this new edition includes data from the Population and Habitat Viability (PHVA) workshops conducted in three of the species’ range states, Nepal, China, and India; these workshops utilized firsthand information on the decrease of red panda populations due to factors including deforestation, illegal pet trade, human population growth, and climate change. This book also includes updated information from the first edition on reproduction, anatomy, veterinary care, zoo management, and fossil history.

Red pandas have shot to viral fame for their adorable looks, but there’s a lot more to these elusive animals than their kitten-like faces and striking reddish-brown coats. The red panda encounter is an amazing one-to-one experience lasting between 30 and 40 minutes which will leave you grinning from ear to ear (we also have an option for two participants).Discusses the status of the species in the wild, examines how human activities impact on their habitat, and develops projections to translate this in terms of overall panda numbers While originally thought to be two subspecies—the Himalayan red panda and the Chinese red panda—growing evidence suggests they may be two distinct species instead. The Chinese red panda is a bit larger and has more distinct rings on its fluffy tail. Range and habitat The Impact of Climate Change on Extant Ailurids / Lauren Michelle Lyon, T. Andrew Joyner and Steven C. Wallace Red Pandas in Nepal: A Community-Based Approach to Landscape-Level Conservation / Ang Phuri Sherpa, Sonam Tashi Lama, Saroj Shrestha, Brian Hamilton Williams and Damber Bista

The Conservation Status of the Red Panda and the Implication of the New Evidence of Two Species / Angela Glatston, L.E.M. de Boer and Frank Princée Which is really the point of the book. I learned lots of things about Red Pandas that I did not know which reinforced the fact that we need inclusive books. Books that tell us all about every type of person. And that reflect different people - not just one sort. So the book teaches a valuable lesson on the importance of being able to find books where you can see yourself - and learn about other people, also. And it does it in a fun and educational way. I promise you will learn new things about red pandas! And gain a bit of empathy along the way. I loved the whole concept and idea; making children aware of endangered species and how we can help them and look after them. I like how Tilly took what she learnt from her time in Nipel and applied it to her life in England and create a bee and butterfly garden. (At the end it tell us what we can do to help solitary bees) I just couldn’t resist this superadorable book when I spied it on Netgalley! A book about red pandas? About pandas? And also about a red panda who just wants a book about themselves! Cute!Bamboo Distribution in Nepal and Its Impact on Red Pandas / Damber Bista, Bishal Bhattrai, Saroj Shrestha, Sonam Tashi Lama, Man Kumar Dhamala, Krishna Prasad Acharya, Shant Raj Jnawali, Manoj Bhatta, Ang Phuri Sherpa and Annapurna Nanda Das

As soon as she arrives in the Himalayan mountains, Tilly loves the Adventure Club Centre. As well as a friendly team of vets and expedition experts, there are tents to sleep in, a gorgeous dog called Mr Fluff and, most excitingly of all, a tame red panda! Red Panda Husbandry for Reproductive Management / Angela Glatston, Katherine Whitehouse-Tedd, Mark Farnworth and Sarah Spooner Red Pandas: An Updated Analysis of Threats Caused by Trade / Roland Melisch, Ling Xu, Saket Badola, James Compton and Stefan Ziegler Red pandas live in the rainy mountain forests of Nepal, India, Bhutan, northern Myanmar (Burma), and central China. They spend the vast majority of their lives in trees, where they sleep and sunbathe. This smelly liquid also serves another purpose: Males release it to mark their territory when searching for a mate in winter and early spring. They don’t have a big window: females are only fertile for a couple of days a year. They typically give birth to one to four cubs that remain with them for about 90 days. Males take little or no interest in the cubs, leaving the cub-rearing to the mothers. Threats and conservation Red Panda not only presents an overview of the current state of our knowledge about this intriguing species but it is also intended to bring the red panda out of obscurity and into the spotlight of public attention. From Jess Butterworth comes a lovely new series that is perfect reading for all little adventurers, budding conservationists and animal lovers. With adorable watercolor and pencil illustration, How This Book Got Red delights the readers with the depictions of both red pandas and giant pandas. Red’s emotions rise and fall as his confidence in his illustrated story ebbs and flows. Readers can all relate to feeling nervous about creating something and putting it out in the world. When another red panda finds his book and reads it, the previously ignored red panda community shares their excitement and cheers for Red’s creativity and confidence. Tilly’s adventure is filled with awe and wonder at being in a new place and having a truly unique experience. Like all exciting adventures, there are challenges and bumps along the way and friendships are made alongside memories that will last a lifetime. Tilly’s excitement at spotting rare animals in the wild and riding a yak are lovely and her heartbreak at witnessing a red panda caught in a trap is a sad and all to real occurrence.

Wide-ranging account of the red panda ( Ailurus fulgens) covers all the information that is available on this species both in and ex situWhen eight-year-old Tilly wins the Adventure Club competition at her new school, she’s thrilled to be travelling to Nepal! She and the other Adventure Club winners, Leo and Anita, will learn how to protect red pandas in their natural habitat. The Evolution of the Family Ailuridae: Origins and Old-World Fossil Record / Manuel J. Salesa, Stéphane Peigné, Mauricio Antón and Jorge Morales Red pandas are considered endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the organization that determines the conservation status of plant and animal species. While no one knows the exact number of animals in the wild, a 2015 estimate put the population at 10,000, a 50 percent drop since 1997.
