About this deal

The WiFi 6E-enabled ET12 uses a dual-band 4×4 antenna array to provide top-end speeds across the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and a dedicated 4×4 antenna array to 6GHz spectrum. In select markets, it can also access the recently opened 5.9GHz band for premier speeds in this coveted slice of the spectrum. All told, it can provide an aggregate data rate up to 11000Mbps. The XT12 offers a double dose of 5GHz throughput with a 4×4 antenna array devoted to that band and a dual-band antenna to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Dual 2.5G Ethernet ports on both models let you take full advantage of the bandwidth potential of WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E. What is your recommendation, please? Will I regret not going with ET12? Are there key points I’m not considering? Two-time TV semi-finalist Chris Dobey also enjoyed a perfect darting day in Barnsley, as UK Open semi-finalist Keane Barry doubled up with Canadian veteran Jeff Smith. The ZenWiFi Pro ET12 — not to be confused with the XT12— is the fourth Wi-Fi 6E mesh system I’ve tested, after the Linksys AXE8400, the ZenWiFi ET8, and the Netgear Orbi RBKE960 series.

My tablet and phone are on the same version of Android and are running the latest version available. While there may be a hardware difference in the radios, it's not one that other vendors appear to be incompatible with. What sets Asus’s Dynamic DNS apart is that the networking vendor also includes an entirely free DDNS domain — you won’t need to get a third-party one. On top of that, this domain also comes included with an SSL certificate. I had no issues connecting my tablet @ 6GHz to my previous 6E mesh solution, a NetGear Orbi RBKE963. I could connect to both the router and its satellites and roam between them. The Orbi had other issues that made it an unsatisfactory solution, so I returned it and replaced it with your ET12 mesh system. The Adaptive QoS is a common feature available in all Asus routers and is one of the most easy-to-use QoS features among all home routers. ASUS uses its AiMesh platform with both the ZenWiFi line and its standalone routers. That means you can build a mesh with almost any modern ASUS system. ZenWiFi Pro XT12 vs ZenWiFi Pro ET12: You must turn them on and look at the front lights to know which is which. On one side, the ET12 has four network ports. There are two Gigabit LAN ports, one 2.5Gbps Multi-Gig WAN port and another 2.5Gbps LAN port. I have a few questions if you don’t mind, the first I don’t believe was touched on as much. I read through this post and your post on wired AI mesh setup.

Supported Instant Guard 2.0 which helps easily invite family or friends to join the VPN connection.Note, though, that it’s always better to set up the router from scratch to avoid possible setting conflicts.

Per Asus’s router naming convention, the number in the ZenWiFi Pro ET12 indicates the number of streams the router has. Home office 65 feet away from the main router with 2 walls in between. The foyer is in between and about 30 feet away from the main router and the home office. If you like your home networking kit to look like it's been borrowed from the set of the latest Star Wars movie, then you'll love the look of the two units that make up the Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12.Access point (AP) mode: As a system, an AiMesh setup can work in the access point mode— not to be confused with an individual router’s AP mode. In other words, you can use an entire AiMesh system (consisting of multiple nodes) that works solely as a network/Wi-Fi extension on top of an existing (third-party) router. Among other things, it helps avoid the use of double NAT. Similar to the case of the ET8, the new ZenWiFi Pro ET12 is a Tri-band router. However, it doesn’t have an additional 5GHz band as found in a traditional Tri-band router. I bought this to replace the crappy adtran 856 that fidium supplied us when they set up our 2gig fiber. The adtran had a 2.5g wan port, but only had 1g lan ports, so if I had any devices capable of using the 2g, they wouldn't be able to connect to anything more than 1g. The adtran also seemed to consistently lose performance unless I rebooted the system. QoS” stands for the quality of service, and it enables users to prioritize Internet traffic to support different applications or services. Each router looks like a large square tower topped with a transparent section. Through the clear plastic, you’ll note the eight internal antennas at the corners and sides in positions supposedly optimized for the coverage.
