Reread review: okay damn. This one hits hard YALL. You will 10000% be feeling all the emotions and it’s just such a journey but one worth taking. I need to start the second book IMMEDIATELY (it’s a duet) and see what happens because I’m dying to know!!!! If you've read Sawyer and Billie's story, you'll know James and all the trauma he went through and how he now struggles with trust and his own guilt. If not, it's not a problem, you find out, just not with quite the same depth of detail. He just grew and grew as a man throughout this book and showed how truly beautiful, caring, and protective he was. This gorgeous man was flawed but swoonworthy, just like his brother Sawyer. I completely fell for him hook, line and sinker! What drew me to Colby, the starting goalie for The Sound, was his vulnerability. He was desperately worried about his brother, as he should have been. Dez needed to be worried about. Still, it was obviously more than that.

I learned that adult is just a number. Maturity does not come with age but with experience. Experience is the best teacher.

On a more personal level, I'm also not a fan of 3rd person dual POV writing, I feel like dual POV works best in the 1st person. We learn that Trica has had to deal with a lot of heartache in her life that she has never told anyone about and it helps you understand why she is like she is.

I was honestly hoping for a light hearted drama, but I got one full of angst, chauvinistic behavior and victim blaming. What he didn't expect was to be shot down and dismissed after their intimacy. He left, a broken man. My last thing that I will hate on, is the ending. It was the worst, most confusing cliff-hanger I have ever seen. Nothing would ever make me want to continue the series, so the cliff-hanger was just dumb and unnecessary.These are two characters that we met previously in books one and two and I will admit that I wasn't too keen on Trica to begin with but this book has most definitely changed that. We already know that James and Tricia have history but what I loved in this book was learning the finer details of their relationship. I adore James, and during the first part of the book I was hurting for him. His past relationships have left a mark on his heart and I am certain that like me, you will totally understand why he behaves in the way that he does. I believed that being loved by him was going to be the greatest gift and as the story progressed, I knew I was correct because he is loving, caring, kind, passionate, considerate and will 100% give his support when it is needed. The leads conveyed their characters well. I can see their anguish, joy, regret and love toward each other. Wtf did I just read lol is the author glorifying cheating? Cause that's basically what this book is. He cheats on his wife with a high schooler btw. And later on she cheats on her fiance with this same guy. Cheating is so cool guys, let's all do it and not give a crap that you're hurting people. Ok your relationship with your wife isn't good. Fix it or divorce her. What's the point of cheating. Curl up with Chasing Love where the goalie has to prove that he’s worth the risk and stop the girl from running away.

I have been eagerly waiting for the next Chasing Love story, after reading and loving the previous book about Sawyer, James's brother's story. And do not get me started on Lex *fans face* I shit you not this guy sounds over the top HOT, these two together are like like panty wetting rabbits on speed!! James is the eldest of the Wild children and brother to Sawyer from the Dare Duet. We learnt somethings about James in those first two books, especially when he opened up to Billie and then started to repair his relationship with Sawyer. The author had dropped hints about James and Tricia’s attraction but now we learn what really happened between them.

I'd been really looking forward to this having seen James and Tricia's interactions in the previous duet that I loved. I wasn't disappointed at all, what a wonderful book full of feeling, emotion and steamy, sexy hot chemistry. Of course, he has heard of it. Aren't gays known for their fashion sense and club life? The second his eyes light up, I know I'm on the ball.

This is like a sub-point of the previous point. If they are really not in love and are physically involved with other people, they why did Samantha lie about the baby being Lex's when she ended up with the baby's dad anyway? Like there's nothing she gets out of it apart from hate and unhappiness. Honestly, that was the worst possible move ever because she could have easily just been honest and directly started a new life with whoever the baby's dad is! What is the point-like seriously was it just to add to the plot? To me, it's more like a plot hole. Tricia has issues that she has been living with for a number of years. Sadly her story is someone’s reality and my heart absolutely broke when what she had been through was revealed. I admire her immensely and I sincerely hope that from this moment onwards she can put the pain behind her and use the strength I have seen that she possesses, to change her future for the better.

It’s one thing if you’re not actually in “official” relationships / the other person knows you’re dating other people or if the relationship is super unhappy like if Julian was cheating and abusive and she couldn’t get out. But Julian was fine, annoying, but fine. And the problems with his jealousy and paranoia were all legitimate issues caused by her cheating on him and lying to him. She would literally cheat on him in other rooms while he was there. Like what. Now, when James and Tricia finally gave in to the attraction that had been brewing between them for a long time it was explosive. James's description of his reaction to her gave me goosebumps, it was so intense, so hot. Charlie is so indecisive! She plays around all the time like she knows that she is engaged but if she is having feelings for Lex, then she could have opened up about it with Julian so that he doesn't get broken just like how she was 9 years ago. If she has experienced that trauma so much so that she was admitted to the psych ward, then why the hell does she do the same to Julian?? I know that it was for the plot but there are so many ways this story could be re-written without all the cheating that happened. She literally sleeps with both the guys, kisses both of them, and says "I want you" to both all while being engaged to one. If she needs time to decide, she could have taken it without cheating or indulging sexually with the other one and then lied about it when asked. She also does the same mistake when she was 18 and she plays around with her best friend's brother! She could have been with him if he was single and if everyone was in the know about the relationship including the families of the involved parties! As CEO of the family business, I could wheel and deal my way around anything. Now all I had to do is transfer those abilities to my relationship with Tricia and convince her to be my happily ever after. I don’t care about her past. I’ll do anything to give her a future. No matter the cost. The push-pull was way too much for me. Lex was honestly a man broken. He had loved Charlotte since he was 23 and he wants her, plain and simple. Charlotte, she too wants Lex, but it seem like she only wants him naked. Yea, yea I hear all her griping about being hurt but hey buttercup, you are crushing 2 men!
