About this deal

The Intel X710 adapters are optimized for data center, cloud, and mobile applications and include the following features: See the release notes and the readme.txt file for installation instructions, supported hardware, what's new, bug fixes, and known issues.

We recommend you work with your computer manufacturer before installing our driver so you don’t lose features or customizations. Third-Party Software. Your use of any third-party software is subject to Your compliance with the license You obtain directly from that third-party. A listing of any such third-party software may be in a text file accompanying the Materials. SFF-8472 identifier must have value 03h (SFP or SFP Plus). You can verify the value with the cable manufacturer.Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- DisINTx- Cost-and energy-efficient design delivers superior performance with a theoretical throughput of 40 Gb/s (20 Gb/s Tx; 20Gb/s Rx) bidirectional throughput Empty SFP+ cages for 10GbE connection supporting SFP+ transceivers or DAC cables (except the T4 adapter which has RJ45 ports) From a performance perspective, the Intel X710-DA2 OCP NIC 3.0 performs just as we would expect. We have been using Intel’s X700 series NICs for over six years now (see Intel Fortville Lower Power Consumption and Heat as an example) so the driver support is very good. There was a Fortville re-spin to fix an early bug, but cards like this OCP NIC 3.0 form factor are all built many years after that occurred. It is something we do not worry about these days.

Network right now is: 5 Client PCs 1Gbit | 2x TrueNAS (testet the drives, they can do 8Gbit Read 7Gbit write) Waiver. No waiver of any provision of this Agreement will be valid unless in a writing signed by an authorized representative of the waiving party that specifies the waived provision. That signed waiver will not constitute a waiver of any other provision. A party’s failure or delay in enforcing any provision will not operate as a waiver. Dispute Resolution. If we have a dispute regarding this Agreement (other than a dispute over misappropriation of trade secrets or breaches of confidentiality obligations), neither of us can file a lawsuit or other regulatory proceeding unless the complaining party provides the other party a detailed notice of the dispute and our senior managers attempt to resolve the dispute. If we can’t resolve the dispute in 30 days, either of us may demand mediation and will then try to resolve the dispute with an impartial mediator. If we don’t resolve the dispute within 60 days after the mediation demand, either of us may begin litigation.Intel classifications are for general, educational and planning purposes only and consist of Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers. Part number 01DA900 is supported on the x3850 X6 and x3950 X6, however 81Y3520 is not supported on these servers

On the 10Gbps side, this is less of a concern than it is at 40GbE and dual 40GbE speeds, but the Fortville NIC does not have the same level of offloading that newer Columbiaville (Intel Ethernet 800 series) and other NICs have such as the Mellanox solutions. For example, RoCE V2 support Mellanox has been a major proponent of and we find in the Ethernet 800 series, but not these Fortville NICs. The 10GbE NICs here are low-enough speed where the impact on CPU performance does not necessarily require heavy offloads that we see in higher-end NICs. This is certainly more of a basic or foundational NIC. Final Words If you ever assembled a server where you had a NIC and the wrong faceplate, it led to some difficult decisions. See the very bottom right for an example of this on STH being obfuscated by cables. Cavium ThunderX2 Test System Rear Open Source Licenses. Adapter-based isolation and switching for various virtual station instances enabling optimal CPU usage in virtualized environments In terms of power consumption, this is where the Fortville NIC series shines. It is specifically designed to be a low-power option. Here is the official spec table with different attach levels for the dual and quad-port OCP NICs from Intel. We can see the NICs are using the Intel i40e driver, which is Intel’s mainstream Fortville driver shared with the XL710 series and even the X722 PCH networking options found in Xeon Scalable platforms and the embedded NICs in the Xeon D-2100 series. We can also see SR-IOV support.SFP+passive or active limiting direct attach copper cables that complywith the SFF-8431 v4.1 and SFF-8472 v10.4 specifications. Restrictions. Except as authorized above, You will not: (a) use or modify the Materials in any other way; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Materials provided in object form (except and only as specifically required under Section 2.5), or (c) use the Materials to violate or aid in the violation of any international human right. You will be liable for your subcontractor’s acts or omissions including breach of confidentiality. The other major change with this version is that the NIC is designed to be easily swappable with a connector in line with the plane of removing the NIC to the rear of the chassis. That makes installation much easier. The connector is built for PCIe Gen4 speeds and x16 links, but as a dual 10GbE card this is PCIe Gen3. Practically, that has an impact since this card is now using a PCIe Gen4 x16 motherboard slot for what can easily be accomplished in PCIe Gen3 x4. Intel X710 DA2 OCP NIC 3.0 Slot
